I had a fairly sizable portion of beef frozen and put it out at noon today to thaw out. Now in my time zone it is 10 PM, so in other words its been in the refrigerator for 10 hours. The problem - its still frozen solid, no soft spots or anything, its still a rock. So how long is it supposed to take to defrost? I see all of these "cooking experts" on the internet and TV that say 4-6 hours for beef to defrost completely in a fridge but mine's been in there for 10 hours? What's going on?
