Looking for the title of a horror film where a group of insomniacs move into a house for an experiment?

in the film i remember a scene with a gl room, one where a pendulum swings into a fire place and also where a wall has moving faces talking to one of the characters? i remember the house was a mansion? not in black and white but it was in darker colours. would be wonderful if someone knows what film this is
