My computer's windows Media player does not have sound in wmp videos, but does play sound on U-tube.. Help!?

Videos with sound that winddows Media Player opens will olay but without the accompanying sound. What can I do,, I checked the Sound Blaster and no Mute bottons are checked,, It plays sound for U-Tube, What can I do?
