Radiometric dating-and fundamentalist objections?
Saw the citation of paers by one poster that included answeres in genesis--for that particular person---if you research the answer in genesis claims etc you will find they are all falsified. However--lets set the radiometric argument to rest. The transuranic elements decay into lighter isotopes by loss of neturons. Now, nuclear reactors and nuclear bombs work on the principal that these neutrons interact with nuclei and yield more neutrons. In a nuclear reactor--the number of neutrons available to the fuel rods are moderated by materials that absrob neutrons--heat is generated but these control rods (like boron) keep the reaction from becoming a self sustaining chain reaction. In a nuclear bomb--the m of fissionalbe material is compressed to the point where enough neutrons are captured that the nuclear reaction becomes self sustaining (critical m). NOW IF THE DECAY RATE WERE ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE GREATER SO AS TO ACCOUNT FOR A 6000 YEAR OLD EARTH--NATURAL DEPOSITS OF URANIUM AND THORIUM ARE SUFFICENTLY DENSE TO YIELD AN UNCONTROLLED CHAIN REACTION. IF YOUR GOD CREATED THIS WORLD 6000 YEARS AGO--IT BLEW UP IN AN ENORMOUS FISSION EXPLOSION 20 MILLISECONDS AFTER CREATION. Therefore epic fail for the radiometric decay rate theory of the creationists.
