What do Republicans think of Rahm Emanuel's appointment as Chief of Staff?

He's definitely got a reputation for being partisan and a bit uncompromising. Every Chief of Staff I can remember has been a big rollover softie back to the Nixon and Ford administrations. Will a new approach to this position be effective or will Emanuel try to be more diplomatic?
